Michelle Zadrozny, LCSW-S has a unique perspective and approach to LCSW supervision. Michelle has 20 years of social work expertise - including at the individual, community, and organizational level. What Makes Me Different?
|
Non-profit challenges? Working in a medical environment? Squeezed by clinical demands and management expectations? I have been there! I have over 20 years of social work experience in diverse environments - including community mental health, medical settings (including nursing homes, hospice, and behavioral health), non-profit organizations, and private corporations including management consulting firms and employee assistance programs. I've pretty much seen it all, and I can help you navigate complex organizational challenges while staying true to the integrity of our profession.
I facilitate a supportive, collaborative environment that seeks to uphold the highest standards of our profession. I compassionately support supervisees in connecting to their individual strengths and passions, while challenging themselves toward their greatest potential. Since 2016 I have been the Clinical Director and Co-Owner of Plumeria Counseling Center, a co-working community for therapists to help launch a successful private practice. I was the Branch Chair of NASW Texas Capital Area (2017-21) and have been an active member since 2007. I have created award winning non profit programs, with a focus on workplace supports for low wage workers (Innovative Program of the Year, Leading Age Texas 2015). I have published several research studies in partnership with the UT Steve Hicks School of Social Work. I am well networked and very professionally connected in Austin and Central Texas. I provide career coaching and mentoring as an integral aspect of my supervision. In addition to helping you build your clinical skills, I can help you with networking, marketing, and reaching your professional goals - while prioritizing your self care and work-life balance. I take a personal interest in your success. I am invested in your commitment to our social work core values, and will support you in deepening your clinical skills while making self care a priority - instilling good, healthy habits for a life long enriching career in social work at the highest level of licensure. |
Clinical Background
|
-Clinical Specialties.
Adults (18 and over). Severe mental illness, aging issues including eldercare and hospice, life transition at every stage of life, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, addiction and co-dependency issues (including co-occurring disorders). Extensive expertise working with family systems with adult children who are struggling with mental illness. Practice Settings I can provide supervision to social workers working within my area of expertise. This includes non-profit agencies, medical settings, and/or private practice - any setting working with adults 18+ and over. I also have extensive experience working in home health, hospice, and community-based mental health care. Treatment Modalities I utilize an eclectic approach, incorporating elements of CBT, ACT, psychodynamic, Jungian, mindfulness, spiritual, and solution-focused therapy (to name a few). I am at heart an 'Eclectic Existentialist,' and I believe that many of our life challenges stem from the beauty and mystery of the Human Condition, versus focusing on pathology. I seek to embody our Core Social Work values: Service, Social Justice, Dignity and Worth of the Individual, Importance and Centrality of Human Relationships, Integrity, and Competence. These core values guide every aspect of my work, and I believe that the Professional Use of Self is our greatest instrument and asset as a therapist - and how we fully integrate our personal and professional selves and live a life of integrity, authenticity, and congruity. I am Highly Sensitive and empathic, and have had to learn how to create healthy boundaries in order to effectively serve my clients. A significant aspect of preventing compassion fatigue and burnout is learning how to manage stress and develop and maintain a healthy self care practice. This is a hugely important aspect of my supervisory approach. Supervision Format I provide a combination of group and individual supervision for a total of 4 hours per month. This is flexible based on your needs, group availability, etc. Supervision is based on a recurring monthly fee. I make myself available for any urgent concerns, and am committed to providing the support you need on your licensing journey. Additional Placement - Private Practice I provide supervision to social workers working at agencies within my area of expertise, while also offering additional experience/hours working under my licensure in my private practice at Plumeria Counseling Center. This is highly selective and not guaranteed to all supervisees. A minimum of 2 years of paid mental health experience is required. |
